Perhaps nothing says New England quite like lobster and clams, and it was this Northeast tradition that Life Care Center of Stoneham, Massachusetts, recently shared with local seniors.
On Aug. 29, 2017, Life Care Center of Stoneham held a lobster bake at the Stoneham Senior Center. Rich Nichols, food service director, cooked a fabulous meal of lobster, steamed clams, corn and coleslaw.
The lobster bake was such a popular idea that even though only 50 seats were available, more than 150 local seniors requested to attend.
Life Care Center of Stoneham has been getting more involved with the local senior center.
“They asked us if we could do an end-of-summer program,” said Jeffrey Ekberg, executive director. “We have been told by the seniors that this is a new mandatory annual event.”
